This book, containing the works of 22 researcherspresented at a round table held in Zadar, tackles five subjects. Firstly the use of literary and geographical sources for the geographical history of the ancient Adriatic, followed by the political and administrative frameworks illustrated in the example of cities in Liburnia. The heart of the book is devoted to the reconstitution of land, river and sea routes and the major commercial currents, from the Archaic era to the Late Antiquity, and in particular high-lights imports from the Orient. The book concludes by a methodological approach and a colour supplement consisting of twenty maps in the perspective of a future computerized atlas of the Ancient Adriatic.
