IMPACT OF THE TRACKED VEHICLE TURNING MECHANISM ON THE ENGINE POWER REQUIRED IN TURN
The paper analyses the impact of the relative fixed kinematic turning radius on the engine power required in turn and on the efficiency coefficient of the turning mechanism in several concrete examples of tracked vehicles. Parameters have been defined which describe relative change of engine power required in turn and the change of efficiency coefficient of the turning mechanism depending on the relative turning radius and types of turning mechanism. Based on the performed analysis, recommendations are given for selection of the relative fixed kinematic turning radius.
