SARIB project: Key activities relevant for WFD implementation in Sava River Basin

Health-related database on 290 E. chub specimens from the Sava River (Otok Samoborski to Košutarica) during 2 spring and 3 autumn campaigns. No indices on bacterial or virus diseases. Most frequent nine types of ectoparasites and two types of endoparasites (in intestine). Database on the level of specific priority pollutants (metals and organic pollutants) in fish tissue (liver, gills and bile). Database on the biomarkers as the response to subtoxic exposure and/or effects of selected inorganic and organic pollutants, including the priority pollutants from WFD. Database on the time-integrated bioavailable concentrations of metals recorded by passive samplers (DGTs). Identification of “ hot spots” in terms of chronic exposure of feral fish European chub.
