Sources, Driving Forces and Meaning of Organisational Changes
The aim of this paper is to identify the sources and drivig forces that generate demands for changes in organisation, to describe their effects and point out the significance of organisational changes. An organisational changes is any real and essential modification of some part of organisation. The sources of organisational changes, according to most authors, are external and internal. This paper treats them as either predominantly external or predominantly internal, since none of them are purely external or purely internal. A change in any factor (or several factors) may result in an organisational change, but this paper discusses only those factors that represent the most frequent sources and driving forces of organisational changes. They are: market dynamics, new technologies, socio-economic trends, changes in strategy, the process of organisational growth and organisation crises.
