THE PREDOMINANT CONCEPT AND PERSPECTIVE OF MODERN NEUROLOGY - RESULT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF CURRENT NEUROBIOLOGY

Neurologic sciences and practical clinical neurology has rea-ched a turning point. Current medicine, although built on biologic grounds, has froth its beginnings primarily been a human activity, serving man as an individual and mankind in general. Owing tea the above described and forthcoming advances, today's neurology enters the fundamentals of regulatory mechanisms controlling not only man's behavior but also the possibilities of its modifications. On the other hand, neurology has become a profession requiring considerable resources, which results in legitimate demands for rationalization even in rich countries. Contrasts between the rich and the poor in each individual society and contrast; between the rich and poor nations in particular, will also intensify in this field. Controversies between the technologically induced advance and human community capacities to control them and use them for the benefit of an individual and entire human community, in keeping with the ecologic needs of the present and future generations, should also be expected. Therefore, demands for issuing principles and regulations of ethics-based activities on a number of issues already imposed in the field of neurology and expected to rise in the future, appear fully justified.
