Peer Assessment in learning Introductory Programming Course
Traditional assessment methods often encourage surface learning but assessment is a tool which can be used for learning and improving of student's work. Peer assessment is an example of a successful approach which can be used to develop practical, creative and critical thinking. This paper describes the use of peer assessment in introductory programming course. Our results indicate that peer assessment process successfully helps students to develop cognitive skills and better evaluation of their own work when studying computer programming.
