Hydrogen Fluoride at Workplace - hard solving problem
To asses the effect of modernization of the process of reducing alumina to aluminium on the presence and concentrations of gas hydrogen fluoride at work environment in the Electrolysis plant. Periodical measurements of chemical agents were performed at the same workplaces before and after modernization. Before modernization, measurements showed the presence of hydrogen fluoride at all workplaces in Electrolysis plant at concentrations up to 10 times higher then the maximum allowed value. The higher concentrations of this gas were measured while pots were open. After the modernization of electrolytic pots, concentrations of hydrogen fluoride decresed, but still in 83.2% samples were above the recomended values. This gas remain one of the primary pollutants, especially while pots are open. Despite the modernization of technological process, hydrogen fluoride stll remains hard solving problem at work environment in the Electrolysis plant.
