Contemporary values of the product design in a new environment

Different attitudes, beliefs and lifestyles along with globalisation of the industrialized countries have opened vast opportunities of individual choice. The market is supplied with many novelties featuring global and local distinctiveness, which are not trends any more but new values and viewpoints. In this respect design has the role of revealing newly developed human needs and creating new products validate according to the new systems. Present work discusses contemporary values which nowadays determine global scene in the field of the finished wood products design and dwelling environment. In abundancy of the available global and European novelties and newly created values Croatia could make its selection and reinforce its position on a demanding local and world markets.
