Unilateral Tinnitus treatment with Tinnitus manager
Objectives. The main objective of this study was to analyze the results of external aid digital processing software in tinnitus treatment. In patients with chronic unilateral tinnitus persistent after different types of drugs, functional or other therapy, which often do not result in complete relief form this annoying symptoms it leads to the reduced qualitzyof life and their daily function in most of them. Methods. Pitch-matching and laudness-balance testing weere done in 30 patients before and after the use of Tinnitus manager \Noise generator masker\ in order to reduce it to the minnimum level or, if possible, to eliminate it completely. The purpose was to evaluate the relationship between tinnitus pitch before and after the continuous treatment. Results. The main difference resulted after the use of this digital signal processor was near the tinnitus pitch level, working more efficially during the longer period of use. Discussion. The shape of this ITC multifunctional processor hearing aid enables programmable change depending on the enviroment and daily activities.
