The principles of treatment of railways rails defects
Increases in railway traffic, heavier axleloads, higher speeds and introduction of new generations of rolling stock have increased the loads on rails in curves especially. Most railways today opt as standard equipment for their track steel grades 260 (R0900A) and to a very limited degree 260Mn (R0900B). Over last decade railway infrastructure has increasingly suffered from rolling contact fatigue (RCF) damage. That are lateral and vertical wear problems arise later on heads of railway rails. This paper elaborate the principles of monitoring and eliminating of railway rails defects caused by operation according to new regulations (Catalogue of Rail defects UIC 712 R, Recommendations for use of rail grades UIC 712 R and Treatment on rail defects UIC 725 R)
