Burgenland Croatian in Austria: Language Maintenance or Shift?

The study focuses on Croatian/German language cmpetence, domains, frequency and language attitudes. Findings are discussed within the context of social factors such as modernisation, urganisation and mobility. The impact of English as a global language is also taken into consideration in an attempt to present language hierarchies in this multilingual area.
