THE IMPACT OF LASER TREATMENT ON GRAY WOVEN COTTON FABRICS
The impact of CO2 laser treatment on the construction characteristics, air permeability, UV protective and tensile properties of grey woven cotton fabrics were investigated. The cotton fabrics were treated using the Laser Robot EL-240 system for finishing jeans (manufactured by Tonello srl). The fabrics treatment produce a lightly darkening which occur as a light brown shade on treated fabric surface, probably due to a surface dehydration. The results of investigation of laser treated and untreated grey cotton woven fabrics indicated the change of all investigated properties after laser treatment, which are more intensive by fine cotton cloth.
