What Makes Antiquity so Different, so Appealing? Issues and Debates
The classical lexic of the visual arts and architecture of the Rome during the Imperial Age was re-used in newly established imperial dynasties and collonial forces during the Modern period. Borrowing in such a way visual authority of the Roman Empire, that entered to the common perception as The Empire, the new imperial states, monarchs or governements reinforced their strengh, declared self-perception, and recognized themselves as successors of the Classical Roman glory.
