"Passio s. Machabaeorum" u hrvatskoglagoljskim brevijarima
Croatian Glagolitic liturgical books contain not only the First and Second Book of Maccabees, but also the Passio Machabaeorum. The martyrdom of seven brothers and their mother was worshipped both by Jews nad Christians. From the beginning of the 5th century seven brothers' cult was disseminated in the whole Church. In sanctoral of 18 Croatian Glagolitic breviaries on the day of first of August the Passio Machabaeorum is read. Croatian Glagolitic Passio contains some very rare nad interesting words. In this article the text of Passio Machabaeorum from the IV Vrbnik breviary is transliterated into the Latinic script, together with its variants from other breviaries.
