Superparamagnetic behaviour of Hf_{;57};Fe_{;43}; amorphous alloy
In Hf_{;100-x};Fe_{;x}; amorphous system the stablishing of long range magnetic order depends on the iron concentration. For the investigated Hf_{;57};Fe_{;43}; alloy this concentration is just below the threshold for long range ordering. Therefore, the magnetic clusters of iron with relatively high magnetic moments formed in nonmagnetic matrix are expected. Their behaviour shows to be superparamagnetic. Detailed measurements including magnetic hysteresis loops, dependence of magnetic moment on temperature and the relaxation of magnetization are performed. The splitting between zero-field cooled and field cooled magnetic moment curves points to the blocking of magnetic moment of the clusters. This is the origin of hysteresis loops below the blocking temperature. Slow relaxation of magnetic moment is logarithmic, which indicates that the moments relax over the distributed barriers. Using the model of thermal relaxation it is found that the average size of magnetic clusters is approximately 10nm.
