Organizacija i provedba sustavnog praćenja rezidua u namirnicama životinjskog podrijetla

In the report discussed are modern principles of evaluation of quality and hygienic fitness of foodstuffs of animal origin in view of the protection of the health of population. Special attention is dedicated to degree of contamination of foodstuffs of animal origin with regard to various residues, sources of contamination, the number of samples necessary for analysisi, analytical methods and selection of these, correctness, precision and replication. Besides this, the report contains information on consumption of foods in Croatia, and weekly intake of arsenic, cadmium and lead. According to the stated views, priority is the protection of humans from harmful effects of residues, hereby confirming determination to use the new system of surveillance in the future, i.e. monitoring programs, having in view that EU adopted the principle that "food produced according to the legal requirements in a EU country is acceptablr in all the other memeber states of EU". Accordingly,any country wishing to participate in the international trade must pursue a systematic quality control, i.e. controlof hygienic (health) validity of food, and the indicators on the presence of contaminants in foods must be complete, regular and accesible to all participants- from producer to consumer
