The application of cybernetic models in anthropology and biology

The cybernetic LOPI model is based on the idea that in the case of demography, a well-known logistic model (Jovanović 1999) has to be modified so that the rate of population reproduction (X) is controlled by two age groups: a) the reproductive group (Y3): positive control, and b) the post-reproductive population (Y4, Y5): negative non-linear control. So the reproduction controller has the following form: X=(Yr/Tr)(1-(Ya/G)). The primary aim of the present investigation was to apply cybernetic LOPI model to the simulation of demographics and population dynamics of the eastern and western region of the island of Hvar for the time period between 1700 a.d. and present day.
