Pea yield and important harvest factors in Osijek region (Eastern Croatia) depending on the sowing term and stand
There was a hypothesis that spring field pea for grain production (cultivar Sobel) will differ in responding to a sowing term and stand (840.000 and 1.250.000 plants ha-1). Researches were conducted in the period 1997 - 1998 in Osijek site. After the bean had been formed, plants height and plants height by the first pod were determined. Obtained results were processed by the variance analysis. Both research years were characterized by a drought period lasted during the final part of the growing season. The second year was known for considerable more precipitations compared to the longtime average. Grain yield varied from 1.27 to 2.34 t ha-1 in 1997. In 1998 it ranged from 2.47-3.34 t ha-1. The research results approved the hypothesis primarily related to optimal sowing term, stand and their interaction. This paper and achieved results are the modest contribution to researches on pea grown in our country.
