Usage of Advanced Technology for Rapid Exit Taxiway Positionning and Enhancing Runway Capacity
Air transportation delays have great economic impact on the users of the aviation system. According to traffic statistics and forecasts the air traffic system is faced with a traffic increase and limited infrastructure resources, so the airports will become a bottleneck in the air transportation system. Rapid Exit Design Interactive Model (REDIM) has been developed as an algorithm suitable to be used in a realistic airport environment with the inclusion of several aircraft specific variables and its runway occupancy time. The paper shall describe a detailed structure of the airplane landing phase elements and the application of REDIM as an enhancement element of the manoeuvring area capacity.
