Multimedial presentation of Analog-Digital Grid

Tesla’ s discovery of alternating current was one of the main factors in the Second Industrial Revolution, because it allowed the transmission of energy across long distances with small losses, leading subsequently to the creation of an efficient power grid that now spans the world. The grid structure here – an interconnected system of processing nodes and transport lines that connect them – has many parallels, before and since, but this was the first one on such a grand scale and with such a global impact. Today, after the Digital Revolution, we are faced with the information grid – at the same scale as the power grid, functionally the same as the power grid, yet transporting another, arguably even more valuable resource: information. The short film AD-GRID endeavours to show this parallelism, and the progress seeded by Tesla's inventions.
