Optimisation of Cutting Parameters for Longitudinal Turning of Inox-Steel
In this paper the optimisation of cutting parameters for longitudinal turning of Inox-steel Č 4580 (X5CrNi18-10) according to the economic criterion, i.e. minimum machining cost per piece, has been done. First, an extended Taylor equation which shows the dependency of tool life on cutting speed, feed and depth of cut was determined by multiple regression analysis of the tool wear testing results. Then, it was used for determination of economic cutting speed and optimal chip cross-section area by linear programming. Also, the load diagram of the machine tool and the tool combination from which the area of possible solutions can be seen was constructed.
