The Model of Military Logistics Transformation Into a Dynamic Logistics System
After Cold War, the military systems found themselves in modified conditions, which are marked by at least three characteristics. Firstly, developed countries are not threatened any more only by the reasoned military factors and those factors are threatening them less day by day. Thus, the military systems lost their "opponent" and with it most part of their role. Secondly, the military systems are not capable enough to deal with different forms of, so called, new threats because of the lack of resources, lack of qualification and competence, which are vital for solving most of the questions concerned with these threats. Therefore, it is not strange that it is all getting to the third point of inconvenience for the military systems, which is definitely the most unpleasant for them. Political country and especially society, as important parts of the military system environment, are in such modified conditions questioning themselves about necessity or at least about "reduction in cost" of the military system. These processes are indicated in continuously radical demands for military reduction, drastic cutting down on resources dedicated to military defence, etc. However, in order for the system to survive, it needs to adapt to modified conditions. Nevertheless, all these statements play a great importance to logistics as a part of the military system. We can summarize that material and product stocks acts between internal transport, production and product sale as a shock-absorber, though they demand huge financial investing.
