Workplace Engineering in Technological Processes of Sewing
By methods of industrial engineering the existing workplace for the technological operation of sewing the side seam on the universal sewing machine was recorded and analyzed. Using the MTM system (Method Timestudy Measurement) and workplace engineering the workplace was re-designed in order to rationalize technological operation, to increase productivity and to reduce working load. The results obtained show that by finding an ergonomically more suitable working method the time of performing the technological operation can be rationalized by 47.8%, and the engineering of a new workplace with the use of the automatic sewing machine leads to an increase of productivity of 273.2%. By economic comparison with a security factor of 1.15% investments into the automatic sewing machine would be profitable after the machine operation of 12.8 months.
