Electrochemical and monolayer studies of lipid interaction with heavy metals and organic pollutants
The studies which are performed by us and can be usefull for the investigations in the frame of the project BBMO (Biosensors based on molecular organization) are shown. The main topics included in this lecture were: Chemical composition and permeability of lipid layers, Development of method for early warning system to detect formation of aggregates which can lead to mucilage formation and eutrofication, Sea- surface microlayer (SSM) as biomarker and Sensing of sea surface microlayer by impedance spectroscopy. Methods which are used in these investigations are electrochemical methods (a.c. voltammetry out-of phase and in-phase measurements, monolayer techniques, Brewster angle spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
