Influence of Parameters of Sulphur Vulcanization on Compression-Set in Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Rubber
Compression set is one of the most important physical and mechanical properties of rubber membranes and gaskets. The percentage and velocity of relaxation of these articles mostly depend on rubber structure, molecular weight and its distribution, accelerator system and sulphur crosslinking structure. Compression set results are dependent on the EPDM type, on the content of diene and on sulphur/accelerators ratio. Compression set was measured at room temperature, 70 and 100 C. Other physical, mechanical and rheometric properties were measured, too.
