Usefullness of cells from stored blood for leucocyte migration inhibition, lymphocyte transformation and monocyte spreading inhibition tests
To assess the usefulness of cells from stored blood for the migration inhibition, lymphocyte transformation and monocyte spreading inhibition tests, aliquots of blood were used immediately or after storage for 24 and 48 hours at 4 °C. In all the tests the results with fresh blood were similar to those obtained after 24-hour storage. A longer storage may be acceptable for lymphocyte transformation induced by mitogens, but not for the other tests.
