Front-end electronics and DAQ for the EURITRACK Tagged Neutron Inspection System
The EURopean Illicit TRAfficing Countermeasures Kit (EURITRACK) Front-End and Data Acquisition System is a compact set of VME boards interfaced with standard PC devoted to a cargo container inspection portal employing tagged neutron beams. The front-end electronics process all detector signals, checking coincidences between any of the 64 pixels of the alpha particle tagging detector and any neutron induced gamma-ray signals in 22 NaI(Tl) scintillators. The system is capable of handling the data flow at neutron flux up to the portal limiting value of 108 neutron/second. Some typical applications are presented.
