Population genetic data on 15 forensically informative microsatellite loci in a population of Montenegro
Autosomal STRs are the most informative genetic markers providing high statistical capability of discrimination and individualization in forensic testing. Allele frequencies of 15 AmpFlSTR Identifiler STR loci (D8S1179, D21S11, D7S820, CSF1PO, D3S1358, TH01, D13S317, D16S539, D2S1338, D19S433, vWA, TPOX, D18S51, D5S818, and FGA) were analyzed in a sample of 101 individuals from Montenegro. The agreement with HWE was tested by the exact test and the χ 2-test. Forensic parameters (power of discrimination (PD), power of exclusion (PE), polymorphic information content (PIC), probability of match (PM), paternity index (PI)) and heterozygosity for the 15 studied STR loci were calculated. The interpopulation comparisons between population of Montenegro and neighbouring Balkan populations: Kosovo Albanians, Serbians from Vojvodina province, Macedonians and Macedonian Romani were also made.
