Utjecaj sustava gospodarenja i endomikorize na uzgoj rajčice (Lycopersicon lycopersicum L.)

The objective of this research was to determine efects of alternative production systems (organic and sustainable) and endo-mycorrhiza on the vegetative growth and yield of the tomato in comparison with the conventional system. During 2002. and 2003. a two-factor trial with three repetitions and split-plot design was set up in Pula (Croatia). Main factor “ crop management” had three levels (organic, sustainable and conventional), while the sub factor “ mycorrhiza” had two levels (tomato seedlings inoculated with endomicorrhizal fungus and non-inoculated seedlings). Tomato was planted after PE black mulch was set in the conventional and sustainable systems while in the ecological it was planted in biomass rests (fodder pea in 2002, and hairy wetch in 2003.) without primary tillage, plants were grown till flourishing. Plant rests were used as plant mulch only on plots with ecological production system. Manuring (by fertirrigation) and pest protection was provided trough basic principals of ecological sustainable and conventional production. We achieved plants with tallest height in conventional production, while the smallest were in ecological production system in 2002. Plants inoculated with mycorhizza were taller than non-inoculated plants. Highest yields of marketable tomatoes in 2002. were achieved in conventional production system. In 2003., the highest yield was achieved in sustainable production, while yields in conventional and ecological production had no significant difference. Only in first research year inoculated plants had higher yields considering non-inoculated plants. Also in first year ecological tomatoes had significant less weight regarding to other two production systems. Endomycorhizza had no impact on this feature. In first year we had extremely bad weather conditions (often rains while vegetation period), therefore the percentage of non-marketable tomatoes from ecological production was very high (above 55%), significantly higher than in other two production systems. In second year with good weather conditions there were no significant differences in percentage of non-marketable tomatoes. Endomycorhizza had no significant impact on this feature.
