New peptidoglycans and adamantyltripeptides - immunomodulating properties and structure-activity relationship
Structure-activity relationship of several biologically active compounds comprising peptidoglycan structure was studied. Peptidoglycan monomer (PGM) and the derivative, Boc-Tyr-PGM were hydrolyzed by N-acetylmuramyl-L-alanyl amidase yielding the disaccharide GLcNAc-MurNAc and corresponding peptide portions of the respective molecules. In several experimental models, the peptides obtained by enzymic hydrolysis exhibited immunomodulating and antitumor properties wich could be compared to the activity of the integral parent molecules. Investigated adamantyltripeptides were diastereoisomers and were tested separately. Both compounds showed antimetastatic and immunomodulating activity, although in some models the activity of diastereoisomers was expressed to a different extent.
