Why is consensus?
Consensualism as an appraisal strategy in social epistemology, which offers a specific criterion of the epistemic justification (or epistemic desirability) of beliefs. The objects of evaluation in social epistemology are individual beliefs, social belief - profiles and beliefs produced by social institutions. For the consenusalism, the agreement with existing consensus in the community is the central evaluation standard. In this paper, I intended to examine some criticism raised against consensualism.
consensualism; consensus; innately based consensus; common sense consensus; perceptual consensus; learning based consensus; convention based consensus; empirical consensus
