In vitro immune responses of porcine lymphocytes to live attenuated gE^-pseudorabies virus vaccine
Recently, marker vaccines allowing the differentiation between naturally infected and vaccinated pigs are available for use in eradication programs for control of pseudorabies or Aujeszky's disease. Six noninfected 8-week-old pigs farrowed to immune sows vaccinated with ADV were used. The samples from retropharingeal and bronchial lymph node were obtained following the euthanasia. The common mitogens (PHA and PWM) were used as the control stimulators. In both lymph nodes CD21 B cells were more frequent than CD1 cells. The data indicate a prominent role of viral envelope glycoprotein antigens in stimulation of the in vitro proliferation of regional lymph node lymphocytes rather than PBL.
