Characteristics of Interfaces between Users and Its Services
Today, when telematic infrastructure is changing the approach to traffic technologies, the question arises of how to enable the users to make the best usage of ITS services. The work gives incentive to discussions regarding the interfaces between users and ITS services and technical plants in the widest sense. The distinction between the specialist (exclusive) and systemic (scientific) study of the traffic problem was analyzed. The analysis indicates the fact that today the average user finds it difficult to choose the best solution – the optimal traffic ITS service, regardless of whether this refers to fulfilling of individual or group/collective interests. Comments are provided on the structure of the basic ITS services defined by the task group ISO from 1998 which describes eight basic groups of ITS services (basic services) and 32 sub-services. There is special emphasis on the issue of this architecture regarding the property of intermodality of the traffic system and the development of new telematic systems. The ITS service provider and user set two different questions that are both complementary and opposing. The service provider focuses on the issue of the way in which the service needs to be offered in the widest sense of the word, and the service user on which service should be used for realizing someone's needs.
