Direct Drive - Trend in Modern Elevators

In general, in the design of elevator driving mechanisms, there is a high demand for small installation space, silent function and programmable control with high driving reliability and safety. Classical solutions of elevator drives with electric motor and mechanical power transmission cannot fuly meet the requirements of the state of the art buildings. However, the problem can be overcome by using high torque electric motor with high technical performances. They still have a high price, but they are increasingly used as elevator driving mechanisms.
