Evolutionary Computation Based Multi-Objective Reconfiguration Of Shop-Floor Layout
This paper presents a new approach for online reconfiguration of the current manufacturing system. A proposed model for multi-objective adaptable design and reconfiguration is based on the Emergent Synthesis concept with implementation of Evolutionary Computation (GA). Based on the proposed approach a simulation model has been built and tested. The analysis has been conducted using randomly generated data. From obtained results of the simulation we able to conclude that our proposed model has a high level of multi-objective adaptation of the manufacturing system shop-floor. One of the major characteristics of our proposed approach for multi-objective design and reconfiguration of the manufacturing system is that we can simultaneously influence design and reconfiguration/adaptation of the shop-floor layout and scheduling rules
