The Influence of New Inks on the Print Quality

The new aims concerning the quality, which can be achieved only in modern systems using the high quality materials, were set to the graphic workers by the modern technology and the market demands. Recently, the quality of the material sets the new standards in the graphic production, which must be satisfied by the printing houses sooner or later, if they want to stay in the competition that is greater every day. One of the demands of the modern graphic production is the possibility of gamut increase in printing. The researches in this paper have been performed on prints obtained by classical and new high pigmented offset inks, on two kinds of printing substrates most often used in high quality reproductions. The new knowledge concerning the possibility of greater gamut reproduction in printing has been given by the research in this paper. Key words: gamut, printing, reproduction, dot gain
