Sažetak
In service inspection and preventive maintenance are part of managing aging and degradation in many engineered facilities. Such activities were undertaken in huge petrochemical complex in Croatia to determine reliability of concrete structure Prilling Tower. It is system type Marley (L.T. Mart C.O. USA) was built in 1980’ s. Prilling Tower is used for cooling water that participate in process of production of artificial fertilizers. Aggressive environment accelerated chemical and physical deterioration of concrete in just twenty years. A large experimental study, including structural analysis, was done to determine structural properties and assess condition of concrete structure. After inspection, testing and thorough analysis, condition state of structure was determined and proper measures were proposed to extend service life of existing concrete structure.
