Business Process Reengineering Using Simulation and Workflow Management
This paper describes the basic principles of Business Process Reengineering (BPR), as well as a role of simulation modeling and Workflow Management (WFM) in BPR. One of the most important instruments used in the implementation of BPR is modeling of business processes, with particular emphasis on simulation modeling as a powerful quantitative decision support method. WFM is a key technology for supporting the management processes as it supports the definition, execution, controlling and documentation of business processes. Simulation modeling and WFM are complementary and can be jointly used to improve the efficiency of BPR.
