Forest Typology in Croatian Forestry
Typological research began in Croatia systematically in 1961. The whole investigated and mapped continental area is 1, 326.000 ha in 1:100.000 scale of which 1, 038.000 are public and 288.000 ha are private forests. 353.000 ha of carst forests are mapped. About 3.000 sampling plots were established. Phytocenological, pedological and managerial analyses were made and stand quality and structure were determined. Forest assocciations, soil types and forest types were mapped to be used as a basis for all further systematical research.
