eGovernment & Media in Europe
Media, especially journalists, face a new situation due to expansion of e-Government. It offers new sources of information or new, easier and faster approach to pre-existing information. On the other hand, all functions of e-Government ought to be monitored by the press – and especially the local e-Government by the local press. Misuses in almost every segment of e-government can jeopardize the human rights, not only the right on privacy – and this is another field where investigative and interpretative journalism must be a watchdog on behalf of a citizen.
