An Approach for Automated Multi-ring Network Design

In this paper, an approach for automated multi-ring network design is proposed. Process of automated multi-ring network design is analyzed and simple process decomposition is proposed. Each process stage is explained, together with procedures used for its implementation. Results obtained using the developed software tools are given and compared with results of simple mathematical program. Based on obtained results, it is concluded that ring network design process can be automated and fine tuned using simple preset constraints. However, practical usage of proposed approach is still being investigated on improved models that take into account different real-case network features.
