A Phenomenon of Well Cement Detoriation in HT Sour Gas Carbonate Reservoirs (a Case Study)
The study is based on the case history of several wells of the gas condensate fields in Pannonian basin. After almost 15 years of undisturbed production from naturally fractured carbonates, in some cases, the plugging across the perforations with unidentified debris jeopardized the future well service. Experimental results, suggested that well cement after a long-term exposure could be deteriorated loosing its compressive strength and integrity. The dominant mechanism of cement deterioration is caused by carbonate dioxide corrosion process under a high downhole temperature (HT).
