ROOF STRUCTURE OVER NEW SWIMMING POOL IN ST. MARTIN, CROATIA
The paper presents the glulam structure over the swimming pool in St. Martin na Muri Spa Resort, Croatia. The structure has been made in rounded form, shaped as a wave with double glulam girders. The girders are supported by steel columns. The roofed area of the swimming pool is 1700 m2. Among the seven main girders, four of them have different support so the spatial model calculation has been made by means of COSMOS/M program. The paper presents the results of the static and buckling analyses of 3D models as well as the details of the solution and a number of photographs made in the course of the construction. In order to make the glulam girders, spruce wood glued with melamine glue has been used. The paper will also present the method of protection of the timber structure, with the emphasis on the protection from humidity and the structural protection by formation of detail.
