Degradation of 6-aminonaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid using the selected mixed microbial culture under aerobic and microaerophilic conditions
The present work describes degradation of 6-aminonaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid (6AN2SA)under aerobic and microaerophilic conditions using a unique granulated selected mixed bacterial culture (SMBC). The selected SMBC were Nitrosomonas, Nitrosococcus, Pseudomonas and Moraxella strains. Under aerobic and microaerophilic conditions and in the presence of other selected environmental parameters (dissolved oxygen, temperature and pH), SMBC is capable of complete degradation of 6AN2SA (1000 mg/L), while performing biodegradation, nitrification and partial denitrification
