Road Traffic Safety in Dalmatia under the Conditions of partially Constructed Motorway A1

The work analyses road traffic safety in the region of Dalmatia during the summer months 2003 and 2004, precisely at the time when the A1 motorway was constructed, first only to Zadar whereas in 2004 all sections are functioning except for the last one from the Pirovac interchange to the Vrpolje interchange. By comparing the presented road traffic flows in the region of Dalmatia and by the analysis of some dangerous points in the area of the last non-constructed section, conclusions are made about the possible influence of the motorway construction on road traffic safety.
