Anatomical basis for the approach to the hypoglossal and lingual nerve in the fallow deer (Dama dama L.)
Hypoglossal and lingual nerve are cranial nerves, which participate in tongue innervation. Approach to the hypoglossal nerve is possible from the medial side of the vertical part of processus mandibularis, at the elevation of ventral quater of mandibular bone. The second possibility of approach to the hypoglossal nerve is between cranial and lateral part of the ala atlantis and processus jugularis, in which manner we reached the hypoglosal nerve at the foramen nervi hypoglossii. The approach to the lingual nerve from incisura vasorum is possible from medial direction of the pars horisontalis mandibulae.
