Optimal choice of cutting tool geometry and machining regimes by method of self-excited vibratios
The quality of tools for machining of new materials should be adequate. That requires modern and more reliable methods and conditions for testing of cutting tools. By applying method of self-excited vibrations for optimization of cutting tool geometry and machining regimes practical and theoretical significance is obvious. Measurement of vibration parameters (amplitude) is relatively simple, results are reliable, and duration of the measurement for obtaining required number of data is relatively short (in comparison with some other measurements). In this paper one experimental and theoretical method for defining of functional quality of cutting tools is given together with experimental results.
