Structural and optical properties of (Ge2S3)x(As2S3)1-x chalcogenide glases
We have investigated the correlation of structural and optical properties of the (Ge2S3)x (As2S3)1-x chalcogenide glass thin films with the average coordination number Z. Structural changes were monitored by Raman scattering and IR absorption and optical properties were monitored by UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy and photoluminescence. All observed parameters ; peak intensity, energy gap and refraction index exhibit extremes at the average coordination number Z=2.67, suggesting the occurrence of the structural phase transition. The appearance of second photoluminescence band for the sample with Z=2.67
