Influence of Railway Passenger Coach Multi-System Feeding Converters on Supply Network

Extremely exacting requirements have been imposed on feeding converters for modern railway passenger coaches regarding their influence on the supply network during steady state and dynamic conditions, in accordance with UIC 550 regulations. This paper deals with a part of the examination results of four-system converter 50 kVA power. It maintains current disturbance level in the supply network below that which is permitted for input impedance required for a DC network, and the high power factor for an AC network operation (UIC 550).
