Consequent poles electrical machine – design and analyses
In this paper the design and analysis of the consequent poles rotor electrical machine is presented. The machine excitation on the rotor side is achieved by Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) rare earth permanent magnets placed on the rotor side forming the consequent-pole rotor design. The machine design procedure is emphasized taking into account all permanent magnet (PM) application aspects. The machine performance is obtained by Finite element method coupled on external electrical circuit and driven by Matlab-Simulink program. An experimental machine is built and measured and results are given.
